about

hi, i'm emily.

But I secretly hate when people call me that {now not so secretly}. Em it is.
It's less formal and i like it that way, because if you read this blog, you know enough about me for us to be on nickname basis (:

This blog is my journey. I started it when I was a newlywed, having just moved to a major city, begun a new job, and basically entered adulthood. Within these blogging years we've moved from our 100 year old rental to a renovated 50 year old home in a new hood. The same borough we're now planting a church in. I've documented two pregnancies here and became a mama twice over. Hoping for that number to increase, this time through domestic adoption.

I blog about life and everything in it. For me that's Jesus, marriage, parenting, kids, adoption, pregnancy, living in the city, being creative, cooking + baking. You name it.

Oh and I'm starting an Etsy shop this year too.

welcome to our whirlwind (:

::FAQ::

Where are you guys? Montreal, Quebec, Canada

What do you do?
my husband is a church planter (a French Baptist church partnering with Redeemer City to City) and I'm at home with our growing family for now.

Do you like raising kids in the city?
YES! there are huge drawbacks and benefits. We have zero plans to move any time soon. here's a great blog post that echos our hearts quite well on the topic...

How many kids do you want?
honestly, I don't know for sure. I used to say 4 - all biological was the plan. Then I experienced pregnancy. Ha! But also, we started thinking about other ways God could grow our family besides the immediate assumption of having them biologically. We know we want more than 2, but what comes next for our family, were still waiting on God to reveal. Our hope is to adopt from Quebec, 1 or 2 (siblings), which you can read about on my other blog.

I can't comment and want to!
a lot of people have told me this. Here's the solution!
when you're trying to comment there's a box to write your comment in, and underneath it  it says COMMENT AS: and there's a box within which you can scroll down and select one of many options.
The problem most of you come across is that you're trying to post with a blogger ID and you don't have one. If you scroll down to the bottom of the options, there are two you can use with no ID: Name/URL or Anonymous. Name/URL is fun because you can link to your blog (if you have one) and I always like learning more about my readers. But Anonymous is cool too :) Hope that helps!

**please ask me before using
either pictures or posts from
{our nest in the city}. merci!
