Liz Taylor Handmade [review + giveaway]

Hey everybody! We've had quite the whirlwind last few days over at Casa Morrice and again, le blog has paid the price. My parents were in town and we had a blizzard (the normally-6 hour drive took them 13!) and then Lily and I came down with a horrible sinus cold and Oli got pink eye! All while the hubs had two huge dental procedures (that are actually classified as "oral surgery"). Yelp. But I'm back, and today I have something amazing!

I'm sharing a review + giveaway today from such a unique Etsy shop that I'm totally in love with. Liz Taylor Handmade is so many of my favourite things rolled into one: vintage + uncycled + artsy + handmade. Didn't think all four were possible? I know. I know. But she's the real deal.

She takes vintage sheets, uncycles them into fabrics, and uses them in her modern quilting designs. Seriously, everything and anything in her shop I'd put in my kids room without question and be so proud to do so. She has such an eye for patterns and colours and to think everything she is sewing with is an uncycled piece of history!! Love.

She sent me a pillow case cover to incorporate into the kids room and I was so thrilled when I found out it was the perfect size for Oli's rocking chair. We started a tradition where we buy a vintage rocking chair for every baby that comes into our home. There's a turquoise one for Lily and the blue one is Oli's, and now I'm on the hunt for baby #3's (and am planning to paint it yellow!). Anyway, her shop has quilted pillow cases and also baby quilts - all of which are simply beautiful.
